I worked on the Thames Garden Bridge whilst I was working at Heatherwick Studio in 2014, where I helped design furnishings for the bridge deck, including seating, lighting, security cameras, bird baths and waste bins.
I believe that any designed objects on the bridge ought to part of a family that reflects the natural environment immediately around it. I used Dan Pearson Studio's landscape plan to guide the design process we used.
Below, I looked at the required heights for security cameras and bollard lighting, and sought to understand the differences in the natural surrounds at different heights.
It became clear that the family of objects ought to grow with the garden.
